The first round of the Heineken Cup begins this weekend and Paddy Power have a great deal that features all the first games of the six pools. Place a try scorer bet on any of the games and Paddy Power will refund losing bets if a number 11 scores the first try giving you a chance to try again (excuse the pun).
This is the fifteenth year of the ERC Heineken Cup and since its beginning the competition has gathered momentum with crowds increasing and brought unrivaled cross border competition to the world of rugby union.
24 leading club, regional and provincial teams will be competing in one of the most prestigious competitions in professional rugby. Amongst these teams are former champions Ulster, Leicester Tigers, Munster, Leinster and of course current record holders for most cup wins Toulouse.
Heineken Cup Tips
Bookmakers are currently tipping Leinster as favourites to win this years cup with Toulouse hot on their heels, although we think Clermont is a team well worth watching as the tournament progresses.
As for players to watch you should be looking at Nick Evans of the ‘Quins who is europe’s hottest property at the moment and has overseen Harlequins dominance in English Rugby.
Wesley Fofana of Clermont is also a good bet as he scored four tries in four games after his debut for France in last year’s RBS Six Nations.
Tom Wood of Northampton has been making up for lost time after injuries saw him miss out on the England Captaincy and look to see him reach his best as the Heineken Cup progresses.
