Can Vick handle being blitzed all the way to the Super Bowl?

Michael Vick is used to picking up bumps and bruises on the football field, but he is probably well aware that there are only so many hits that a Quarterback can take before they end up injured and quite simply unable to show their true talent and desire to win. In light of this, Vick knows that he will need his protection to do better than it has in recent times if he is to help guide the Eagles to the latter stages of the play-offs and hopefully even further.

With the Vikings having ruthlessly demonstrated that Vick is only as good as his defence allows him to be (or at least only as good as any other QB is when he is having to scramble with the ball), the Eagles know that the man who has helped guide them to a successful season is now the one man they need to help.

However, with Vick proving to those looking at the super bowl odds that he is still the quickest QB in the NFL, they will also be expecting him to show that he is more than capable of moving with the ball and helping his defence in the process. As a result of this, the Green Bay Packers’ defence will be looking to make sure that they are able to make full use of the blitz and not end up leaving big gaps in the backfield for Vick to exploit with his formidable passing game.

Whatever the outcome, the one thing that can be said is that having handled his comeback from prison so well, he is likely to be able to do the same with his return to the play-offs.
